2019 Enrollment

Dear CAO Employee Benefit Eligible Employees -

 

It’s time for our annual Employee Benefit Open Enrollment for all eligible employees!  The dates will be announced very soon so watch for communication.

 

This year, we will be enrolling in our benefits electronically using ADP!  Don't worry-it will be easy!  You can enroll using any computer, tablet of phone. If you need a little help, we will also be hosting a Benefit Enrollment Clinics where you can receive assistance from HR to enroll if needed.

 

If you are interested in learning more about the benefits that CAO provides or need assistance with the online enrollment, please sign up for one of the benefit clinics offered on the following dates:  

  • JULY 10, 2019 St. Hyacinth's 1pm-4pm

  • JULY 15, 2019 CAO Buffalo Office 9am - 12pm & 1pm - 4pm

  • JULY 17, 2019 Di Francesco 9am - 12pm

  • JULY 19, 2019 CAO Buffalo Office 12pm - 4pm 

If you are interested in attending one of these meetings, please contact HR to RSVP. When you are ready to enroll you will be directed the ADP employee portal to complete the enrollment process.  Please be sure to have all dependent information before you begin enrollment, including names, dates of birth, and social security numbers.

 

New for  benefit year beginning Sept.1, 2019:

 

We have made a few improvements to our plan this year that you will hear more about in the months to come.  They include the following: 

 

  • Our rates for plan designs will be released within the next few weeks.  Although our rates continue to increase, CAO continues to be committed to provide our associates the same level of contribution from last year which costs the agency nearly $2.5 million dollars annually.

  • Change: In a direct response to employees concerns of losing coverage during the summer months, our team has decided to change the frequency of deduction to 22 paychecks versus the current 26 weeks for ALL employees.  This will make your per-pay deduction a bit higher, but there will be no benefit deductions taken out of the 4 checks in July and August.

 

  • Change: Good news! All benefit-eligible 10-month employees who take or plan to take our medical, dental and vision benefits will be able to stay on the plan during the layoff period that starts in mid-June 2020. This will ensure you have no lapse in coverage for you and your family!

 

  • Change: As costs continue to rise, we have made a decision to eliminate the opt-out payment for eligible employees who don’t take our medical benefits beginning September 2019.  The money once used in this op-out benefit has been redirected to aid in the rising costs of our associate’s share of the premium. 

 

It is important to continue to be sure that you stay current with the information related to the employee benefit offering.  Please make every effort to update your personal email address within the ADP system.  Once open enrollment is open for employees (end of June/beginning of July) we will send an email inviting you to make your elections online and if interested attend one of the 5 “benefit clinics” that we will be hosting.  If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to call HR.
